Eva Kondorosi Elected to German Academy of Sciences

Congratulations IS-MPMI member Eva Kondorosi for her election to the German Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina). Eva is a Research Professor at the Biological Research Center (BRC) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, where her research focuses on signaling, differentiation and regulation of the legume-Rhizobium symbiosis. In addition to her current role as a member of the Board of Directors of IS-MPMI, Eva has served in a number of advisory and service-oriented roles in the broader arena of international plant biology. In Hungary, she served as the founding director of the BAYGEN Institute (2007-2012), now part of the BRC of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Szeged. In addition, Eva was a founding member of the Institut des Science Végétales CNRS in Gif sur Yvette, France, where she served as one of the first research directors.

Preceding her election to the German Academy of Sciences, Eva was elected as a foreign associate of the National Academy of Sciences (USA), corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and member of Academia Europaea, the European Molecular Biology Organization.
