Light Rail
The Portland TriMet MAX Red Line light rail connects the airport to downtown. Trains generally run every 15 minutes throughout the day.
If you are staying at one of the official congress hotels on our Housing list and plan to take the MAX light rail, we’ve got you covered! To get your FREE rail pass, you will first need to find the closest MAX light rail stop near your hotel and buy a one-time, 2.5 hour pass for $2.50 US dollars to get to the Oregon Convention Center. Upon arrival, you will receive your complimentary MAX light rail pass - good for Sunday, July 17
through Thursday, July 21, 2016 – at registration at the Oregon Convention Center.
Taxis, Shuttles, Etc.
The Convention Center is a 20 minute car ride from the airport. There are many options for ground transportation including taxis, car rentals, and shuttles which can be found in the center section of the airport terminal’s lower roadway.

Transit Info from University Place Hotel/PSU Dorms to the Convention Center
University Place Hotel/PSU Dorms to the Oregon Convention Center
Option 1) Board a Green line train at the SW 6th & SX College MAX Station and detrain at the Oregon Convention Center. From the University Place Hotel, it is a 5 minute walk to the station.
Option 2) Board a Yellow line train at the SX 6th & SW College MAX Station or an Orange line train at the SX 3rd and SX Lincoln MAX station (located immediately outside the University Place Hotel) and detrain at the Rose Quarter Transit Center. From the Rose Quarter Transit Center it is a 5 minute walk to the Oregon Convention Center.
Oregon Convention Center to University Place Hotel/PSU Dorms
Option 1) Board a Green line train at the Oregon Convention Center and detrain at the PSU South/SW 5th & Jackson MAX Station. From there it is a short walk to the University Place Hotel.
Option 2) Walk to the Rose Quarter Transit Center and take a Yellow line train towards Portland State University. For the PSU Dorms, detrain at PSU South/SW 5th & Jackson MAX Station. For the University Place hotel, detrain at the SW 3rd and SW Lincoln MAX Station.
