Call for concurrent session proposals
We are thrilled to announce that concurrent session submissions for the 2027 IS-MPMI Congress are now open! Please use this online form, Alternatively, you can download the IS-MPMI_2027_Concurrent_Session_Proposal_Form_v2 and send it to contact@ismpmi.org. This is your biennial opportunity to contribute to the dynamic scientific program and engage the international plant–microbe interactions community in Jeju, South Korea.
This call for proposals is meant to foster creativity and innovation. Concurrent sessions are 90 minutes. A standard format has three 20-minute and two 15-minute PowerPoint presentations. However, we very much encourage submitters to consider proposing unique session formats that promote audience engagement, such as panel discussions, TED-style talks, or technique-focused workshops. We have heard from early career investigators that non-standard formats offer them a valuable space for scientific expression, communication, and discussion. If you propose to deviate from the standard format, please provide a brief justification on how the non-standard arrangement can promote scientific communication and discussion.
Any IS-MPMI member may submit. We encourage submissions especially from students, postdocs, and early career scientists. This is your chance to take a leadership role and propose interesting and engaging science programming at the congress.
The Congress will include 24 concurrent sessions. Because proposals may overlap with each other or with planned plenary sessions, and to balance gender, professional experience, and geographic representation, proposed sessions and their co-chairs are subject to merger or modification by the organizing committee, in consultation with the IS-MPMI Board.
Once approved, session chairs will be responsible for inviting and confirming all participants and ensuring the sessions run smoothly. Please consider reserving some slots to select from submitted abstracts.
