To build momentum toward the 2027 IS-MPMI Congress in Jeju, South Korea (July 18–22, 2027) and keep our global community connected, we are running a brand-new webinar series: Road to Jeju.
The series runs through May 2027 and alternates between two formats:
Legends of IS-MPMI — In-depth talks from internationally recognised leaders whose work has shaped our field.
Rising Stars of IS-MPMI — A showcase for outstanding early-career researchers from around the world, selected by the IS-MPMI Board from self-nominations. PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are invited to self-nominate to present their work to the global MPMI community. Speakers are selected by a panel of IS-MPMI Board members based on scientific merit and contributions to the MPMI community.

On June 17, we hosted IS-MPMI Legend Roger Innes for the first webinar in the series Leaf Surface RNA: How does it get there and what does it do?. On June 29, we hosted the first of three IS-MPMI Rising star webinars in the Road to Jeju Series. The webinar was moderated by Dr. Abbie Rogers and the speakers were Dr. Nguyen Tan Anh Nhi (University of Tokyo), Dr. Urooj Fatima (KAUST), Dr. Adrian Gonzalez Ortega-Villaizan (U. Nottingham), and PhD student Federico Emanual Aballay (IFBYNE, Conicet/UBA).
